Warehouse picking creates a number of challenges for business's, how to avoid them, the cost of having them happen and what process to employ to avoid them.
A Google STAT
around 1- 3%
But with warehouse picking error rates hovering around 1- 3%, industry order picking accuracy data seems to indicate otherwise. These numbers may not sound too bad until you realize the average cost of an error is around $50-300, meaning an 11-13% drain on profitability.Mar 31, 2021
So, according to industry standard, a accuracy rate of 99% to 97% is standard, so for every 100 orders despatched from your business, industry standard claims 3 can be wrong/incomplete. So for every 1000 orders your business despatches you need to prepare for 30 disgruntled customers and a cost to the business of between $1500 - $9000 in credits/returns/re-picking/re-sending, this cost gets really out of control if your a high volume supplier.
