Getting Started

We start with a coffee and a chat to discuss the scope and objectives prior to a consulting proposal being prepared, and consequently prior to any consulting charge.

The project definition phase will establish the scope of the requirement and the objective.

The consulting proposal will normally cover the following:

Terms of Reference

Objective

Execution Strategy

Technical/Project Approach

Project Deliverables

Time and Resources

Consulting Costs

The proposal will be as specific as allowable on the number of consulting days assigned and the daily rate applied.

This allows you to ensure there is the correct correlation between the deliverables promised and the effort being deployed.

Every business, warehouse and distribution network is different, which sometimes requires a different approach.

Any queries, concerns or requests can be discussed at the initial informal coffee chat to ensure a WIN WIN outcome

DEFINE

Once the initial proposal has been agreed and accepted we discuss with you in more detail and start to define the root cause(s) of the

inefficiencies, including spending time within your warehouse and distribution facility to best understand and define the nature of the operations, talking to key staff and following process's end to end.

2

MEASURE

This process runs concurrently with the defining aspect of the project. Gathering quantifiable data to confirm the current process's.

3

ANALYSE

With many warehouse and distribution consulting projects there are likely to be several potential solutions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses.

It is only once we have analysed the data we can begin to present to you the options we believe offer the most viable solution.

3

IMPLEMENT

It is at this stage we provide you with a detailed implementation plan. The plan will usually provide the proposed tasks, timing, resourcing, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and possibly a cost estimate where appropriate.

Once the implementation plan is agreed, the implementation can begin. This can be undertaken by Logistics Consult or delegated to an in-house project team

4

CONTROL & FOLLOW-UP

Regular follow up's to ensure all is still firmly on-track.
